Fkin STRIP SEARCH? In the USA? WHAT? SRSLY? Now I’m Mad.

Let's Protest Strip Searches by Driving Naked

NSFW - click to view video

STRIP SEARCH!Good idea or police state tactic? Here’s my initial take from a first-hand routine traffic stop:

I had no idea the other day, in my white middle class neighborhood that I could’ve been strip searched when I said, “That’s fucking ridiculous to the cop that was pulling me over.” I’m betting in other areas, with my skin being a bit different and my auto being a bit more run down, I’d have been in for a different experience all together.”We’re cracking heads on the OWS folks all over this country in a way that we would frakin invade other countries for. Regardless of how you feel about OWS, it’s not right.

And now they have the power of the STRIP SEARCH? I think no one, none of us smart ass honkeys, can actually believe it would happen. Not to us, not in our neighborhood. But it that truck of smelly outdoor workers gets stopped in front of our house, heck, they might have been illegals too. They were speaking Spanish.

Disgusted with my country at the moment. That’s why I’m activating with and my own little uprising

Of course stickers won’t solve anything. But they can get us talking to each other. We can spread the dialogue with thinking folks and see if we can tip the balance away from the tea party and the way RIGHT that are trying to get Santorum elected. SRSLY? What kind of nightmare would that be.

I encourage you to get involved somewhere. Make sure your opinion is heard. And if you don’t agree with me, that’s cool, but let’s keep the discussion in the top levels of the hierarchy of a disagreement, okay.Bungle in the Jungle or What’s In a Snipe: Graham’s Hierarchy of Disagreement

But we definately need to raise up our voice on this one. What’s the MEME that we can start online to support or defeat this amazingly retro ruling?

Hey they won’t have to strip us if we’re naked. That’s it. DRIVE NAKED.Thanks RR for the push.

I’ve Got A Problem With 99 Stickers

My problem with 99 Stickers on Facebook.

Pay per click advertising on Facebook

Pay per click advertising on Facebook

Yeah, I’ve got a problem. This is a wonderful experiment. And what we’ve got here, in a few short months, is an actually “community” on Facebook. And we’re sharing, commenting, and reposting a lot of information.

My problem is this. Unless I pay for it, we’re not getting any more “reach.” Meaning no one is joining us, unless I pay ¢.25 to ¢35 per click, on an advertisement similar to what got you here. So what’s the issue? Why aren’t WE sharing 99 Stickers to others?

One more, minor problem. My vision was that people would get the stickers and send back pictures of the stickers in funny places. And a few of you have done that, but not 500 – 600 of you. That’s how many stickers I’ve given out so far. And I’ve gotten $65 from Pay-Pal since the beginning.

My question: What’s wrong with this approach? Is facebook not conducive to sharing? Are you afraid to publish or promote your connection with something so clearly 99% related?

I’d really like to know what you think. That’s why I’m here.

NOTE: And if you’re reading this on the website, what’s your perception, what’s your disconnect? I want to CONNECT, not disconnect. So what’s your problem with 99 Stickers?

Know Your #occupy Twitter Hashtags: #ows vs #occupy vs #99spring

While spending time in a training for trainers of group I was interested in learning which hashtags still had momentum. It’s good to know where the conversations are happening and Twitter is a powerful tool to understand public sentiment.

One of my favorite tools is TwitterVenn. A quick way to compare the volume of tweets.

Occupy Wall Street and the communications war

Here’s a post that has even more ideas for harnessing the information available on Twitter.

Get organized and be heard. We are the majority, let’s empower ourselves with action.

The 99Spring Movement Awakens Americans

My 99 Spring DEF: It’s not about parties, it’s not about race or religion, it’s not about DEM vs REP. It’s about empowering your voice, and grouping up for more support and momentum. (That’s why I’m here.)

You don’t have to believe or align yourself with the Occupy Wall Street movement to understand that the 1% (maybe really the top 5% of the 1%) really wield the power in the US. Today I participated in a training session put on by Please check out the site and see if there is something there for you. According to local organizers there are 700+ 99Spring Groups meeting across America.

The training in Austin is at Ventana Del Soul. And you need to learn about them as well. This is a fantastic non-profit facility and restaurant that is training people and helping people with life work, and work skills.

You Are Probably the 99%, Unless You Made $506k in 2010.

99 percent geek photosAmerican households right at the 99th percentile (that is, the cut-off for the top 1 percent) will earn about $506,553 in cash income this year, according to a Tax Policy Center analysis.

So the next time to enter into a dialogue about the 1% vs the 99%, and someone says, “You probably ARE in the 1%.” (Usually a conservative friend who is scared to death of Obama and the 99% momentum.) You can probably say, “Uh, no, I’m pretty sure neither of us is part of the 1%.”

The article “About that 99%” from the NYTimes, has some even more interesting statistics.

The income curve is very steep at the high end, meaning that people just a few tenths of a percentile point above that make much, much more. A family at the 99.5th percentile, for example, makes $815,868; its neighbor at the 99.9th percentile makes more than double that, at $2,075,574 a year.

The top 1 percent of American earners receive about a fifth of the country’s income, according to Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez, two economists who study inequality.

Empower yourself with the information. And next time someone says, you are part of the 1% kindly remind them, the cutoff income number is 6x – 10x your annual income.

A Conversation Last Night Brought a Few Things To Light

AHave fun with the 99 Voices sticker huge percentage of Americans agree with the $$ in politics issue that the OWS movement raised. BUT… (myself included) The same Amercians fear reprisal from participating and even self-identification with the 99%. This sticker is a way show you believe in the power of the people and the power of positive communication. That’s what our country was founded on.

So there is a risk associated with supporting the OWS movement. Personally I have some conservative clients, and some 1% clients, who would be nonetopleased to see my sticker on my BMW. (Yes a car says something about prioirities, my other car was a Prius, before my divorce.) I believe deeply that WE THE PEOPLE can make a difference. I’m not sure exactly how that will play out. But I am willing to put my creative energy behind it. And even some of my money, as I am not going to make even $5 off this venture. (see about us page for more details)

But when the President absolutely CAVES on his promise to VETO the XL Pipeline Line Item if attached to the Payroll Tax Bill. WELL, FOLKS, he said, “We’ve reached a deal that is good for the American public.” WTF? How does an amendment on the pipeline have any benefits to the American public? ANSWER: It does not. It benefits big business, oil companies, and the GOP, AND I HATE TO SAY IT, it helps OBAMA!

If you don’t think that’s a problem with money in politics, then you’ve got your head in the sand. Or you are flirting with the 1% – 5% of affluent Americans yourself, and you simply don’t care. You’re fine either way.

Stand Together and Affect Change in 2011 (99% – 99 Voices)

99% stickers are free - v2 diecut sticker - share your voiceWhat do we want? Gross profiteering and influence out of government. While Obama has been a disappointment in many ways, he’s capable of leading us in the right direction. YOU have to be heard!

So while you may not believe in #OWS Occupy Wall Street, you can believe in the message that began to rise above the media frenzy. MONEY OUT OF POLITICS!

It hasn’t gotten better, it’s gotten worse. And this is some of our (the 99sticker folks) dissapointment with President Obama. He’s had some big opportunities and he’s caved to the TEA PARTY and GOP demands. Basically he chickened out and forgot who elected him. THE 1% cannot rule the majority. But you have to stand up.

So regardless of what you think about the Occupy protesters or the lack of leadership and message behind the movement, you can still be about putting values before bucks.

We the people, of the United States of America, are being asked to make a stand. If the GOP debates haven’t scared the crap out of you, perhaps you haven’t been listening. And if you have been listening, and probably you have if you are on this site, you can understand that NOW more than EVER the people of the majority have to stand together.

And that’s the message behind 99 Voices. While we have political beliefs, our primary belief is this election is critical. If you want to go back to the Bush era, and the whitewashing that got us into this debt (can you say Iraq and Afganistan) then sit quietly and watch politics return to the rich.

We hope you stand with us and allow your voice to be heard, both with our free sticker, and with your vote in 2012. So essentially it’s going to cost us money to send out the free stickers. And if we’re gonna get a few million out there before the 2011 elections we need your help.
